Our laundry rooms are one of the hardest-working rooms in our homes. These industrial spaces can quickly become overrun from piles of clothes, household items and other supplies. If your laundry room needs some serious organizational help, don’t despair! Here are 3 quick tips that will help you keep your laundry room organized.
Sort and Purge: Ready to tackle the laundry room? First things first: pull everything currently in your laundry room and sort through them. Dispose of any products that are old, expired, unused or belong in another part of the house.
Contain Your Supplies: Arrange your remaining cleaning products and supplies in groups (e.g. stain removal, sewing materials, household cleansers, etc.) Use bins, caddies or baskets to corral your cleaning supplies into easy to find areas and keep anything you use regularly within easy reach of the washer.
Designate Zones: If your laundry room is a multipurpose room, create designated spaces for each function: laundry, storage of cleaning, pet supplies, or other odds-and-ends. Using color-coded bins is a great way to separate items for each function and makes it easier to find what you need. If your laundry room doubles as room for your pets, make sure to place beds or crates and food dishes away from the natural flow of traffic in the room.
These quick tips will help you to create a laundry room you won’t dread going into.
